Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) was founded on February 10th 1937, by Shri.M.Ct.M. Chidambaram Chettyar. IDRBT (Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology) conferred the Best Award under Banking Technology to IOB. The award was given for the innovative use of banking applications on INFINET (Indian Financial Network) for the year 2001.
